Notes

This was an unannounced show the night before Riverfest 2000. There were probably 40 people there.

The tent was set that day, and everyone was around so they lit some candles and started playing. The only light under the tent was candelight. A very intimate show with friends and family. The last 2 songs were sung acapella with everyone joining in. Sharon Foehl sang an amazing version of Amazing Grace which capped a magical night.

I hope you enjoy it!

Subject: Long Live AJ
I was at Riverfest two years in a row but missed this pre-show show. I love just about everything from them and Reed and have many many fond memories

Subject: The Sixties Mellowed Out
The heart and soul of Sixties music lived on in this group. This performance was not the festival show, but a run-through for a small group the night before. The trade-offs are intimacy instead of accuracy, and relaxation, not excitement. The group was close to disbanding, so there's little, if any, new material--just a rework of favorites around a campfire with friends. The closing a capella version of "Amzaing Grace" is right up there with the Judy Collins and Emmylou Harris classics. The performance is a little too informal for a five-star rating, although the talent, material, and musicianship all are outstanding.

Subject: interesting stuff
wind instruments, guitar, drums, mandoline, fiddle, percussion, violin ... sounds sorta 'folk-ish'.. but a great show... kinda hippie with some solid licks. a fun show, worth a listen and the m3u's make streaming easy! Sorta like what you'd hear at a bluegrass festival.. ~ Tyler, san diego, ca
